John Tacchi

John Tacchi came to the NHS after a career as a barrister-at-law and an investment banker for very personal reasons having experienced the care provided when he contracted a head and neck cancer in 2013. He participated in the NHS Executive Fast Track Programme in 2014 and has enjoyed roles as CEO of BIG Practice Ltd (an 86 practice GP Provider Company in Birmingham), Deputy Strategy Director at Burton Hospitals NHS Trust and Programme Director for Integration at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust where he led and delivered the first vertical integration exercise of two practices in Stoke-on-Trent. He has extensive legal, financial and GP focused knowledge to provide solutions for up to the minute issues facing practitioners today.

Andrew Hughes

Andrew has enjoyed a wide and varied career in the NHS, the Third Sector and in consulting. As one of the youngest executive directors at an NHS Hospital Trust, he spent many years at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and led their Estates projects. Andrew has been a senior non-executive director (Burton Hospitals NHS Trust) and Director of Partnerships, Strategy and Estates at Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. He has consulted to various diverse NHS organisations and has a particular expertise in governance. He has a strong commitment to the Third Sector and is a trustee of Teenage Cancer Trust.  He is a Clinical Tutor at Warwick Medical School (University of Warwick) and a Fellow of both the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) and Institute of Leadership and Management (FInstLM).

Mark Newbold

Mark Newbold is one of the small band of clinicians to have entered the world of top NHS management, becoming the chief executive of Heart of England NHS Trust in Birmingham in 2007 after 20 years as a histopathologist with a special interest in bowel disease. He was the Managing Director for Our Health Partnership which has a substantial number or practices in Birmingham and Shropshire and oversaw the creation process. Mark has strong links to academia  and is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Leadership and Management at Keele University and Honorary Professor of Health Leadership at Aston University. Mark has practical experience of forming larger GP structures and a wealth of knowledge about the process of creating larger structures in health services.

Roger Hymas

Roger has had a long and varied career in health care principally in commissioning. He has advised more than 30 NHS commissioning organisations and NHS England over 15 years, usually at board level.  He was seconded during his time with Humana UK to be Director of Commissioning for NHS Hampshire.  His private sector experience includes a six year period as CEO of Bupa UK’s insurance division and time in the US as a founding director of Health Dialog which became the country’s largest disease management company and a founder of the New York based dotcom ‘Newsrounds’ which provided daily updates to GP offices. He continues to provide advice to the NHS via CSUs and other service providers.

Mark Galloway

Mark has spent many years working with GPs and is currently Chair of One Health Lewisham, a GP federation of 37 General Practices which cares for more than 300,000 people. OHL provides a range of primary care and community services to local residents, various ‘at scale services’ for practices as well as professional staff training. Before that Mark was CEO of GP Primary Choice Ltd, a GP Provider Company which covered 37 practices in Essex and which bid successfully for various services in the locality. He was business manager of a large practice in North-East Essex before that which had 3 sites and covered 13,500 patients and he was instrumental in upgrading the business functions of the practice. Before his time working with GPs, Mark had a career in the banking industry as both Senior Private Banking Manager and Regional Manager for two of the UK’s largest banks. He brings a detailed knowledge of banking solutions that GPs can use for day to day practice issues.
